For every Spot

Make a Spot worth noticing.

A useful Spot tells nearby people what matters, why it matters now and how they can respond.

Be specific

  • Say 'Power cut near 12th Main?' instead of 'Help'
  • Include the useful local context, not a vague headline
  • Make the ask, offer, update or plan clear in the first sentence

Pin the relevant area

  • Place the Spot where the information is locally useful
  • Never publish homes, private offices or someone else's location
  • Public pins stay approximate to protect private details

Explain the response

  • Say whether people should discuss, join, message or use a link
  • Use seat limits only when a plan really has limited capacity
  • For offers and callouts, include enough proof or context to trust it

Keep the timing honest

  • Choose when the Spot stops being useful, not an arbitrary long expiry
  • Use a start time for an actual plan; use expiry for updates and asks
  • Edit or close the Spot when the situation changes

Your responsibility as a creator

  • ✓ Keep the Spot accurate and update it when circumstances change
  • ✓ Moderate the room — remove spam, unsafe talk and harassment
  • ✓ If it involves meeting, choose a public place and set clear expectations
  • ✓ Respect privacy — never share someone's private details
  • ✓ Report unsafe users or messages immediately
